INVENTORY CAPITAL GROUP FINANCES NATIONAL DIRECT
FOR MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL PROMOTION
ICG Funds Manufacture Of 2.5 Million Red Sox Pins For Boston Globe Promotion Designed By National Direct
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Los Angeles, CA (Date) – Inventory Capital Group (ICG), a leading capital firm serving growth businesses, has completed the financing required to launch a Major League Baseball promotional campaign designed by Toronto-based promotional agency National Direct.
ICG client National Direct created the concept for the MLB promotion, which joins the Boston Red Sox, the Boston Globe and MLB official pin licensee Peter David in a month-long campaign. To fully implement the promotion, National Direct needed to finance the manufacture of the required 2.5 million Red Sox souvenir pins, and 750,000 albums, which will be made available to fans at retail outlets that sell the Boston Globe. A different Red Sox player pin will be offered each day during the 25 consecutive day promotion period.
“Without ICG’s involvement, the promotion would not be possible to implement,” said Gail Tilbrook, (President) of National Direct. “ICG worked closely with our executive team to customize a financing plan and the required funds were in place in less than one week. Because of ICG, National Direct is poised to design even more ambitious promotional programs with high-profile partners.”
ICG, through its unique Business Process Financing, funded the souvenir pin manufacturing by purchasing the inventory directly from vendors and holding the inventory under ICG's name. As a result, National Direct was able to meet the delivery requirements of the promotion and fulfill the large quantity of retail stock and deliver on time to it’s partner, The Boston Globe.
After years of serving entrepreneurs as a top consultant, CEO Todd Kesselman formed Inventory Capital Group to provide real-world advice – and financing – to small and midsize growth companies. To meet the financial needs of his ICG clients, Kesselman created an innovative proprietary financial assessment system called Business Process Financing . Representing a breakthrough approach to funding growth companies, Business Process Financing focuses on the sale and purchase of inventory, with ICG purchasing inventory directly from manufacturers and holding the inventory under its name.
ICG clients pass a rigorous due diligence process that oftentimes results in Kesselman and ICG helping them ‘clean up’ key documents and business controls. In contrast to the traditional measures of credit quality, assets, liquidity or historical performance, ICG's Business Process Financing concentrates on making its determination based on whether the business process is sufficient to liquidate the inventory purchased by ICG.
ICG's Business Process Financing provides an attractive alternative over equity financing for clients that apply the ICG facility for funding high-margin growth opportunities. Client businesses appreciate the ICG short-term method as a way of avoiding paying an equity partner forever.
“We are delighted to have made an important difference in the business evolution of National Direct,” said Kesselman. “Growth businesses represent a vast market, and it is our goal to support today’s entrepreneurs with the assistance they need to realize their dreams.”
